Climbing Cougar Mountain was supposed to bring Mia back in touch with herself. She wants only to commune with nature, to relax. But the mountain has become home to a compelling man driven by forces no mortal woman can comprehend. Watching him approach, she senses his potent sensuality, his determination. Then he speaks. He’s been waiting for her, watching her, preparing. Mia tries to flee, but Stark won’t be denied. Ropes soon imprison her, and helpless, she awaits her fate. Instead of rape or violence, she’s subjected to intimate caresses that wash away her resistance and leave her hungry for sex, for intimacy and understanding. Even as her clothing and defenses are stripped away, she learns her captor wants more than her body. This sexual, commanding man wants her soul as well, and he won’t release her until she surrenders.

I purchased this audio book, along with 2 others because they sounded pretty entertaining and they were all in the 2-3 hour range. Perfect when I want to listen to an entire book but don't have 12 to 16 hours to listen. I was so wrong. I should have realized Vonna Harper's writing was geared more toward erotica so that is my fault, but come on... out of a 3 hour audio book, 2 hours were pure sex, and 4 letter words for body parts. I couldn't stand the non-stop sex but wanted to hope the ending would be good so I sped my iPod to 2x (imagine "oh, yeah, now. I have to have it now" with a high-pitched voice). So after listening to lightening-fast sex, I got to the end. The leading man, Stark was made to seem as dumb as a box of rocks. "You mean I don't have to kill them to stop them". Duh. He was okay until that point but then I thought he was too stupid for words. I was really disappointed but I think that if he sex was cut to 1 hour and the plot put into that hour, it would have been a much better book.
If you want a book with a good plot, forget it but if you want erotica, this is the book.
It was bad from beginning to end. The story was bad, and the narrator followed suit. I couldn't wait for it to be over, but I kept listening hoping that there would be some redeem portion, even a miniscule amount. But no; there wasn't. It's not that it's erotica. I listen to and enjoy those types of audiobooks. But this story is not worth a dime. The premise--to save the forrest and hold those accountable for destroying it--s great. But the author failed uncomprisingly in her endeavor to bring any meaningful or enjoyable aspect along with this premise. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is b/c it got so bad at a point that I had to laugh. It was as though the author, surely, must've tried to write a book this bad, like a Saturday Night Live skit ridiculing poor writing and acting by presenting it in exaggerated form. So my being tickled, briefly, added a star. But it's not worth the unintentional humor nor anything else. Save your money!
Mediocre at best, but mostly bad and unimaginitive story and screechy narrator.
disappointment mostly and irritation at the bad read.
As a busy business women I love what audible can give me. Time to smell the roses when life seem to be all about work.
1. Sound quality sounds like the person was speaking in a tunnel
2. Overall the story line was lacking
3. Don't buy this is truly a waste of time and money
4. The poor ratings this book currently holds from others is very understated.
If this is an example of the product no
If the story was more realistic and had a more solid and believable explanation to all the corny things that were happening it would of build a better story line. This book was very poorly written, cheesy and just wanted to have a purpose to the erotic/rape part of the story. Needed more to the story than a story to just build around the sex part.
Cheesy part of trying to be apart of the cougar life and being chosen. Very boring and even a child can write this story without the erotic/ rape part.
like said in my other review is that Jessi McMahon voice and performances rock that is why i bought this book to see if it was worth it.... I like Jessi McMahon performance but this story line gotta go.
the Man part... sooo cheesy.
I would like this story more if it had a more solid love story to this.
Less esoteric analysis of the every aspect of the sexual act and tension
Too whiney. Too high pitched.
Glad, I paid for this at a discounted amount.
