Great Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend to a friend. The story is erotic yes, but I love the way Megan Hart tells a story. It not just about the eroticism.

What three words best describe Wanda Fontaine???s performance?

She wasn't bad, but I have enjoyed the narration on other Hart books more. She did grow on me as the story progressed.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked the relationship between the main character and her sister. It was very real, they way that they fought, got past it, then loved one another.

Caution

This book will dampen your lashes and panties! The main character's life is as complex as reality which leaves you bawling one minute and needy the next. This is only my second book read from this author and she has quickly placed herself near the top of my best authors list.

Bittersweet

Not my kind of fun. The title is appropriate as a description for the story. Very adult search for self awareness combined with explicit sexual scenes. However, I didn't enjoy it. I gave a high rating because it was an interesting story and great narration. Won't be listening again.

Had to listen even when I didn't want to...

The book started off like a cheesy smut book, but I hung in there and a true story developed. It was very emotional and I'm sure many woman can relate to the lead character's actions (although most can't relate to having a quadriplegic husband). It was a bizarre combination of sorry, sympathy, sex, gut-wrenching, and steamy scenes. The bizarre combo almost made me feel confused. All in all, it was a great book and I'm really glad I didn't stop listening the couple of times I felt like giving up.

Unexpected

I was looking for a hot read for a road trip and picked this book. What I found was a well written story with twists and turns that was hot, fun, emotional, heartwarming, and satisfying. I will definitely add this author to my list of favorites.

Interesting Book...

I can't say that I enjoyed this book as much as I would have liked. Prior to this I had listened to Dirty which was excellent. So I think my expectations for this book were pretty high. I felt the reader did a decent job. The story is about a marriage between Sadie and Adam. Adam is left physically disabled after an accident early into their marriage. The story picks up some yrs after as Sadie and Adam are trying to cope. The story is told from Sadie's perspective. Joe is a man that Sadie meets for lunch the 1st of every month in which he tells her explicit sex escapades he's experienced. Each of the characters are clearly "broken" but in different ways. Adam once was a man full of life and very independent that now finds himself totally disabled and dependent. Sadie used to be a very happy and fufilled woman that wanted to explore life with her husband in every way. Joe is lost in a life of physically satifying but emotionally unfufilling sex flings that leave him empty and searching. For the record, this book is not about a physical affair though I would say emotional infidelity is involved. I would also venture to say that some people would think Adam took the coward's way out but with the depression and mental pain he clearly was dealing with, I understood why he did what he did. The book doesn't come right out and confirm it but there are clues in the book that make it pretty obvious that Adam made a choice. I found the book interesting and definitely thought provoking. I'm not sorry that I purchased it because it makes one ponder exactly what they take for granted day to day. Not to mention what they would do if suddenly their entire life was changed as they knew it by a tragedy that indeed left them, "Broken". So this isn't a mindess erotica novel with no real story. I didn't give this book 5 stars because it wasn't a "page turner" so to speak. It didn't keep me glued. I do recommend reading Dirty prior to this one but it's not fully neccessary.

Narrator issues

This book was alright but the narration was difficult to take at times. I think she sounded too childlike in voice for the main character and definitely her reading tone was not very “romance novel.” She read with hardly any emotion or passion. Listening to her use typical, steamy, romance novel terms for anatomy was almost laugh out loud worthy at points. I’m wondering if I would have thought more highly of the book with a different voice behind it.
TL/DR: This was a passion filled book, read by someone who should be narrating kids books.

Hot , funny and little sad.

Loved it ! The performance was really good, did not want to press pause. Nice story and very entertaining.
