Best Megan Hart Book

Complex characters and plot that have you rewinding to catch nuances. Characters are all compelling enough that you end up caring about all of them--even minor ones. sex is some of the most sensually erotic I have read or listened to--no juvenile scenes or dialogue that break the spell of arousal. Hart's novel Dirty comes in second best to Broken, but I would suggest skipping Tempted and Naked--both populated with superficial, self-centered, weak characters. Both Tempted and and Naked left better taste and regret at purchase

moving story

I didn't think I was going to like this audio book and I don't usually like first person narratives, but the story was well done and moving. I finished listening to it on my iPod during lunch today and sat in the parking lot with tears streaming down my face. The language was a little more adult than I'm used to, but hey, they're only words. The story was worth it. I'd listen to this one again.

Beautiful, real story

I read a lot of reviews on this one before listening. A lot of people would basically retell it in their opinions, or they keep saying it neither made them feel good or happy and what a disappointment that is because it's a "romance" novel. Let me be frank..if you want to hear a mindless romance that's purely fictional (no judgement here), this is NOT the book for you. If you want to hear a beautiful, sometimes heartbreaking story, about something that sounds more like real life...you're going to love this.
I thought the explicit scenes were great and matched well with the characters portrayed. The narrator wasn't my favorite, but she did a well enough job that it wasn't distracting to listen to her. Overall I would say this didn't feel so much like a "romance" novel than it did a drama that has sex in it.

One of the Best I've Listened To...

I'm a typical mystery lover and not much of a romance fan. I purchased this book 9 years ago and never listened to it. Recently, I decided to go back to books I'd purchased and never listened to... hence my listening to Broken. From the start, I was glued to this story. Yes, there is a lot of steamy and graphic sex; but there was a very tender and beautifully crafted story underneath. Most importantly, Wanda Fontaine as the narrator was the best I've ever listened to. She was amazing and did such a great job bringing the story and characters to life. When you listen to audiobooks, the narrator is critical. I'd give her an Oscar for audiobook narrations. I can honestly rate this book as one of the best I've listened to and one I will remember for a long time, if not forever. Megan Hart is a very talented author. I'm eager now to work through her other novels.

Loved it!!

If you are looking for a lighthearted read this is not the book for you. This book deals with some very emotional situations/issues. It made me laugh and cry. Mostly cry. What would you do if the husband you love with all your soul is in an accident and becomes a quadriplegic? What would you do if the woman you love is an unreachable martyr? This book is very well-written and explicitly erotic. I loved it. I had only one problem with this audio and that was the shifting POV was a little confusing in the beginning, but I think that had more to do with it being an audio listen than the actual book itself. Megan will be a new favorite author for me if her other books prove this well thought out.
Beautifully realistic story.

erotica and a story line

I enjoyed this book. Erotica with a real story line (how unusual). You actually cared about the characters. After listening to this book I downloaded all her others.
