Claire has a score to settle.
Unwilling mate to the brute who viciously conquered her city, she has fled her Alpha. Hardened by betrayal, cold as the ice outside the Dome no matter how warm her savior's embrace might be, Claire becomes the mission. The Omegas must be freed, no matter the cost.
The price on her head will not deter her; after all, she knows her life retains no value. She can't eat, she can't sleep, and she's running out of time before the inevitable end.
She'd rather die than return to her captor.
For once, Shepherd finds himself facing an adversary he cannot simply crush, and a situation far out of his depth. Desperate to draw his mate back, racked and restless, he is forced to acknowledge that his pregnant Omega is willing to sacrifice her life for her false notion of a greater good.
He holds the key to her compliance and his dying mate's survival - all he must do is give her exactly what she wants.
The Omega must be rejoined with him, because he loves her...though he knows she'll never love him back.
Born to be Broken is the second book in Addison Cain's best-selling Alpha's Claim trilogy, an unabashedly dark tale with explicit sexual themes and complete power exchange. If you enjoy gritty fiction and suspense that sticks long after you've finished listening, this series is not to be missed.

I received this Audiobook in exchange for my unbiased opinion and review through Audiobook Boom.
I could stop listening... even when I was appalled... the story drew me in...
4 stars. Not the best but better than more than half the ones I've purchased.
Clair. Just because she's the lead.
Better emotional range than the last guy that narrated the first gook in this series.
Despite not liking the third book to this series, this second book was- in my opinion- the best book out of the trilogy. I did like the first book but the narrator that did that kind of ruined it for me with the audile.Hope they keep this narrator for the last and final book.
Say something about yourself!
Not sure why this story just hits me. In book two we get to learn a bit more about Shepherd and the world he's in and trying to build. Claire despairs... everything. Just shuts down inside. In doing so, she gives everything and expects death.
The story is so deep that I'm not going to summarize it here. Just praise it and pray for book three to be narrated and released before I have to re-listen to books one and two!!
TWO THUMBS UP!
Avid listener & reader, love a variety of genres, generally have 4 or five books downloaded & switch them depending on my mood.
3 stars bcuz I prefer completed books. a series can be ok if each book is a full story on it's own. Needed more back story to understand some of the over the top animal nature that was described with explicit details. At times the story felt like watching a movie that's only shot with intense close ups.
I story was ok but I didn't like it as much as the first book in the series.
This was a poorly produced audiobook. I had a horrible time listening to it. There was no transition from one scene to the next. I don't know if was because of how the book was written or just how they chose to perform the audio of the book. There was no indication when a new chapter or scene started. The story was very choppy. I would be listening to a scene between two characters and then all of a sudden new names would be used. I eventually realized this was a totally different scene with different characters interacting. There was no indication of a change. I would rewind the audio to see if I could pick up where the scene changed. This happened constantly throughout the book. It was extremely frustrating and annoying. One moment you would have a dialogue between two characters and the next you'd be listening to dialogue between completely different characters with no transition. It was very confusing. I could not recommended this audiobook to anyone. It's a lesson in frustration and confusion.
I love the books in this series, I just wished they would be put to Audio format a lot sooner. Shepherd is my favorite badboy, and Claire needs to look around and relize Shepherd is telling the truth about corrupt Thalos.
This story is exceptional! But also very dark. I haven't yet read the last book in the series but I will definitely be doing so. I love Claire's strength. I know there is more to Shepard than what has be shown so far. I believe he truly does love Claire and will realize that Svana is the true reason behind his monstrous behaviour and beliefs. The world building done by the author is amazing. Addison Cain is one of a kind!
