Publisher's Summary

In the final volume of Anne Rice's deliciously tantalizing erotic trilogy, Beauty's adventures on the dark side of sexuality make her the bound captive of an Eastern Sultan and a prisoner in the exotic confines of his harem. As this voluptuous adult fairy tale moves toward conclusion, all of Beauty's encounters with the myriad variations of sexual fantasy are presented in a sensuous, rich prose that intensifies this exquisite rendition of Love's secret world and makes the Beauty series an incomparable study of erotica. In it, Anne Rice makes the forbidden side of passion a doorway into the hidden regions of the psyche and the heart.

Don't miss any of the books in Anne Rice's Classic Erotic Trilogy of Sleeping Beauty.

    "Not the best."

I have always thought that Anne Rice was running out of steam by the time the she came to write Beauty's Release, the last of the three books that make up the erotic retelling of the Sleeping Beauty story. The language and situations get a little repetitive, and even the introduction of a new character and setting doesn't help all that much. Still, the story wraps up nicely and you get the feeling that all the characters get what they want, or in Beauty's case- deserve. As with "Beauty's Punishment" the narration is performed by two different readers, one male and one female. The woman does an excellent job with Beauty's chapters, but the man has a difficult time of it and his voice and diction are a definite distraction from the sensuality of the story. Of the three books, definitely my least favorite, but worth getting for a couple of good descriptive passages and just to find out what happens in the end.

    "Worth the time"

Since this was my first real “erotica” read, I was surprised that the story overall, kept the listener engaged. Ann Rice is a great author and this trilogy demonstrates her ability to try different characters and styles of writing. Overall it was interesting and at times, humorous!

"Wow! What a twist to a classic"

Couldn't wait to get into this one also. It was very hard to put down the audio book once it was started. I highly recommend it to any one who needs some romance and a little bit of "Naughty Time". This is one of those books that you don't want to listen to while you are needing to concentrate.

    "Not so Sleeping Beauty"
Would you try another book from Anne Rice writing as A. N. Roquelaure and/or Genvieve Bevier and Winthrop Eliot ?

Based on these books, probably not.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I have tried two Anne Rice novels so far (completely different genres) and have not been impressed at all.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was fine, just didn't care much for the story line.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger, was annoyed how everyone just accepted the degradation

    Any additional comments?

This book is like Sleeping Beauty had sex with Christian Grey at a more sadistic Hunger Games!
If you can get past the horrible degradation these people suffer then it's an ok read. Personally, I found myself annoyed that nobody would ever stand up for themselves ... And some actually liked being treated like misbehaved animals.

"As the books continued, the stories became crazier"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The first book was exciting, even got me hot here and there. But as it progressed, some of the stories became gruesome to a point of wanting to skip parts. I guess if u r into horse dress up and rape, u would like it...but at least there was a plot to the whole thing at the end and it finished nice. I would not read anything similar again... So I would have preferred less cruel rape and nastiness.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It ended on a nice note.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If it had any kind of plot.

What could Anne Rice writing as A. N. Roquelaure have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Still can't believe she wrote these books:-(

What didn’t you like about Genvieve Bevier and Winthrop Eliot ’s performance?

They had nothing to work with. Not there fault.
