Not For Me

The mystery and characters are formulaic and flat. The story is predictable and not very interesting. Susan Boyce isn't one of my favorite narrators.

Author thinks she's clever and cutesy

If the author or people who read this book just ask themselves, would I do this or that? This book would get in one star. The way the three women act to the Sheriff (Doogie really? ) is nonsensical. being a smart aleck doesn't make you a strong or smart woman but evidently Laura thinks so.
anyone who's worked in a restaurant knows three women couldn't do all the things that they say they're doing, one woman doing all the baking and cooking except for on Sunday they have somebody come in to help a little bit. and one woman doing all the waiting because let's face it the lead character didn't do anything she was always running around snooping and finding bodies, she didn't do her snooping on her off hours she did her detecting during working hours so they didn't have her as help and then the bookstore and knitting nook set up to where people had to keep running back and forth during breakfast and lunch hours to check somebody's item instead of just letting them buy it there at the cash register in the restaurant or not have those open at that time.
The stupid positions that Susan put herself in, again if you ask yourself if I was brave what I do this no you still wouldn't have done it at the antique store that's out in the middle of nowhere that happens to have antiques outside when it's closed would you get out of your car and go sit in the rocking chair or would you stay in your car would you had somebody meet you out there period that was risking her life to escape and had to get out to the antique store somehow?
The narrator read everyone who was over the age of 50 with scratch 120-year-old voice and anyone that was deemed as suspects or stupid had some sort of an a southern hillbilly accent ugh.
I guess I was hoping for a well thought out smart mystery series but if the rest of her series is like this I think I'm a no-go.
