Publisher's Summary

This collection features three Pulitzer Prize-winning plays:

Lost in Yonkers
Set in Yonkers in 1942, two boys, aged 13 and 16, must spend one year with their austere and demanding grandmother. While the war rages in Europe, Jay and Arty learn the ropes from Uncle Louis and assorted relatives, all peculiar characters. Neil Simon's Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play is performed here by a full cast, featuring Barbara Bain, Dan Castellaneta, and more.

Anna in the Tropics
This poignant and poetic 2003 Pulitzer Prize-winning play captures 1929 Florida at a time when cigars are still rolled by hand and "lectors" are employed to educate and entertain the workers. The arrival of a new lector is a cause for celebration. But when he reads aloud from Anna Karenina, he unwittingly becomes a catalyst in the lives of his avid listeners, for whom Tolstoy, the tropics, and The American Dream prove a volatile combination.

'Night Mother
This play tells the powerful story of an epileptic woman in her early 40s systematically preparing her own death... and the frantic and touching efforts of her mother to stop her. This searing drama, which won the Pulitzer Prize on Broadway, is guaranteed to keep any listener on the edge of their seat.

"Great Theater – but pay cash not credits"

Although this is not quite as great as Volume 1 of the series, it is still excellent. The writing and the performances are riveting and moving. All three of the plays are excellent, with great characters and situations. One is funny, two are intense. Until recently I had avoided theater in Audible format but they have now become one of my favorite genre. BEWARE – this is TWO credits but is on sale for $7.77 – this is crazy pricing – don’t use credits!
