Obwohl mehr als zehn Prozent der Bevölkerung hierzulande an einer Erkrankung der Nieren leiden, ist das Thema Nierengesundheit kaum im öffentlichen Bewusstsein. Dies ist umso dramatischer, da Nierenerkrankungen oft erst sehr spät erkannt werden und viele Betroffene nichts von ihrer Erkrankung wissen.
Die Nieren sind die Kläranlagen des Körpers
Die Hauptaufgabe der Nieren ist die Entgiftung des Körpers. - Schadstoffe werden aus dem Blut entfernt und später über den Harn ausgeschieden.
Die Nieren – Schwerstarbeiter für unseren Körper

Wer würde bspw. bei Beschwerden wie Müdigkeit, Abgeschlagenheit, Schlaflosigkeit, Konzentrationsstörungen oder Kopf- und Rückenschmerzen an kranke Nieren denken? Auch Bauchschmerzen, Übelkeit, trockene und juckende Haut können Anzeichen einer Nierenerkrankung sein. Neben physischen Erkrankungen kann es auch zu psychischen Veränderungen wie Reizbarkeit, Teilnahmslosigkeit, Gedächtnisstörungen und Depressionen kommen.
Warum die Nieren nur wenig verzeihen
Im Gegensatz zu anderen Organen – wie etwa der Leber – können sich die Nieren bei bereits eingetretener Schädigung nicht mehr vollständig regenerieren. Dazu kommt, dass geschwächte und nicht mehr voll funktionsfähige Nieren sich auf die Gesundheit des gesamten Organismus auswirken. .
