Publisher's summary

In which a golden piglet is lost, given, received and discovered, and Gretel hits upon her most lucrative talent.

In the sleepy Bavarian town of Gesternstadt, gossip was viewed by many as a local sport, a popular hobby, a harmless pastime that showed only the depth and enduring nature of the interest of one neighbour for another. In Gretel’s opinion, however, tittle-tattle sowed the seeds of malice among the fertile soil of jealousy, often watered by the tears of its victims. So it was that upon hearing from brother Hans of the whispers concerning a young woman, a married man and a thwarted lover, Gretel is compelled to rise from her beloved day bed to set things to rights. In doing so, she not only solves the crime but begins her new life as Detective Gretel....

A solid short story

Grettel gives new meaning to the “cozy mystery” subgenre, and I love it! Maybe I should add a day bed to my living room.

Gretel’s new groove.

It seems as though Gretel, receiving the brains in the family is to begin a career. As a detective, her first case goes well and earns her some respect.
Gretel has a sign made for her new endeavor and is ready to go.

Cute

A cute little introduction to how Gretel became a private dective for hire after her traumatic childhood in which she was nearly killed by a witch.

A super cute little story

You’re going to get a whole new slate on the grown up Hansel and Gretel. I couldn’t stop smiling as I listened.

Surprisingly enjoyable and yearn for more

Light hearted and good humor. I love the interaction between “sister mine” and “brother mine” to find that both are funny and despite flaws they succeed
