"Desperate Prayers for Desperate Times" is a magnificent book!

It came at the right time in my life! My life which is now in the "Fourth Quarter" which is the name of my last final (so I thought until this book came to me) company. I am aging, though still active. I started my life's career as a Special Forces soldier for 16 years, then chosen for PA school which turned into a great blessing. I had opened a "Family Practice Clinic in a rural setting in mid NC. During that time I became involved in a church where I returned to Jesus. I prayed with my patients frequently...they would even call me at home asking for prayer. After leaving and selling my clinic ( by then I had over 5000 patients) I truly missed my work, and the following two years were extremely difficult, emotionly. I then became involved again with Special Forces training of new applicants. I quit that when I turned 70. Thus the title "The Last Quarter". I would continue to do what I could expecting death not many more years away. I spent more time at shooting and Building various target stands for steel targets as well as participating in shooting competition. I used to write, but had to give that up. So, as I was about to start my last project to build my casket. Then In listened to this book. It seemed to be my "great awakening" . It is a tremendous Christian book that spoke directly to me. It not only encouraged me to stop digging my grave but also explained a new beginning for an old soldier! That was for me, but it is a new beginning for all christians. The best way I can explain the book is to tell others to listen to it and let the narrator bring the words of the Triune God straight to your heart and if you fail to become excited with what you hear, then I suggest you listen to it again! It may be head as as a job description. God bless you as you will think of many ways you can be a blessing to others. This is a lengthy review, but if you listen to this book you will likely write one longer.
