Publisher's summary

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson comes the final book in an epic series about a girl who will travel beyond the stars to save the world she loves from destruction.

Spensa made it out of the Nowhere, but what she saw in the space between the stars has changed her forever. She came face to face with the Delvers, and finally got answers to the questions she’s had about her own strange Cytonic gifts.

The Superiority didn’t stop fighting for galactic dominance while she was gone, though. Spensa’s team, Skyward Flight, was able to hold Winzik off, and even collect allies to help with the cause, but it’s only a matter of time until humanity—and the rest of the galaxy—falls.

Defeating them will require all the knowledge Spensa gathered while in the Nowhere. But being Cytonic is more complicated than she ever could have imagined. Now, Spensa must ask herself: how far is she willing to go for victory, if it means losing herself—and her friends—in the process?

The final book in the Skyward series will free humanity, or see it fall forever.

Damn you, Brandon

What a great ending for my favorite series. Even if I wish it could have gone on forever.

Best author meets sci-fi.

I have LOVED this series. Brandon Sanderson is my favorite author. Sci-fi (especially when it stays consistent with its rules) is my favorite genre. Having the two come together has been a dream come true.
This book has the great character development, and well thought through universe building I’ve grown to expect from Sanderson.
I appreciate Sanderson for giving me so much adventure to experience.

Sorry to hear this series end.

I really enjoyed the series and the characters in it. Seems like it could continue on further, and we could all hear more about Spensa and the gang. I’m glad to have listened to it.

One of the best books of all time!

I love this book so much! I love how it explores the difficulties of grieving loved ones. I love the way that the characters overcome their fears and learn to survive and live with their grief. This book is so hope inspiring. It has a great message that is very thought provoking. Aside from that it is also a great read, very interesting, intriguing, intense, and has great adorable couples.

great ending and message

loved the message of community and coming together. Great to see that message and that even if people or slugs do not look it think just like us that we can still care about each other.

Another hit

I enjoyed this book and the series overall. A lot of cool out of this world concepts as you expect from Sanderson. I think at the end of it all you get a well developed Spensa as the main character. My one con if you want to call it that is the ending of the book. Without spoilers, it was highly logical but did fall a bit flat.

I like that the epilogue sets up a new series.

A mostly satisfying ending

The cytoverse is among the most exciting and creative scifi series I’ve read. It keeps the focus on starfighter
combat that other series like Star Wars only touches on here and there. This book does a good job of completing Spensa Nightshade’s arc in a sensible and exciting manner.

My one gripe is how utterly flat the villain of this book is. I think that’s the point to contrast against Spensa’s arc, but a lot of decisions the villain makes are dumb enough to make me ask how they managed to get this far in the first place.

I’m excited to see what Skyward Legacy holds as the setting is truly bigger and more incredible than Spensa’s experiences alone can encapsulate.

Good way to close out the series

Overall this was a good book! I would say the first book was my favorite only because the mystery of everything was so great.
