Publisher's summary

Death of Yesterday: Booktrack Edition adds an immersive musical soundtrack to your audiobook listening experience!

From the author of the Agatha Raisin television series...

Death of Yesterday: A Hamish Macbeth Mystery

When a local woman tells Sergeant Hamish Macbeth that she doesn't remember what happened the previous evening, he doesn't begin to worry. She had been out drinking, after all, and he'd prefer not to be bothered with such an arrogant and annoying woman. But when her body is discovered, Hamish is forced to investigate a crime that the only known witness - now dead - had forgotten.

Booktrack is an immersive format that pairs traditional audiobook narration to complementary music. The tempo and rhythm of the score are in perfect harmony with the action and characters throughout the audiobook. Gently playing in the background, the music never overpowers or distracts from the narration, so listeners can enjoy every minute. When you purchase this Booktrack edition, you receive the exact narration as the traditional audiobook available, with the addition of music throughout.

Critic reviews

"Delightful...Cozy fans are in for a treat." (Publishers Weekly)

"This red-headed police sergeant living in the small village of Lochdubh, Scotland is such a hoot and a howl that you never want to see this character come to an end...There's never a dull moment in the life of Hamish Macbeth and, thankfully, this author keeps churning out books so Hamish's fans can sit back and enjoy the fun. A+!" (New England News)

Please make it stop

The music was distracting and inappropriate. Who decided that this was a good idea? I almost stopped reading in the first chapter and returned the book. Ugh!

The music is awful

The story was great as usual, the music in the background did not impress. Out of context weird music did not enhance the reading.

Music in Background

Would like to see a character change with Hamish. Getting tired of portraying him as continuing to make the same mistakes. I absolutely do not like the music in the background.

Background sound effects on this version distract

loved the story but the background music and sound effects I'm not too sure about.

Music drove me crazy

I love the story, and the narration. Unfortunately I do not like having the background music. I found it annoying and distracting. I would not purchase another one of these books that include the background music.

Background music too loud

I’ve been listening to this series in order and found the background music in this one to be too loud and at times was a distraction from the story. Not sure why they felt it was needed.

Background music

I found this new addition of background music to be distracting and basically annoying! Why?

Enjoyable, but please! Cut that music out!

This is an excellent rendition, as usual, of a Hamish McBeth story. However, the music behind the narration is extremely annoying.

Murder in the Highlands

very good story, lots of twists and turns! I love Graham Malcom's voice and all the different characters he does. The only problem was the background music and sound effects. definitely took away from the rhythm of the story. Graham Malcom doesn't need help telling a tale! Hopefully this won't be a continuing trend!
