Publisher's summary

Miss Marple meets Oscar Wilde in this new series of cosy mysteries set in the picturesque Cotswolds village of Bunburry.

In Deadlier than Fiction, amateur sleuth Alfie McAlister enjoys his volunteer work in Bunburry's community library, set up in the mansion of the formidable Miss Radford. The library is home from home for eleven-year-old Noah, an Agatha Christie fan who sees murder round every corner. At first Alfie dismisses this as a child’s overactive Imagination - but then he himself is attacked. Could young Noah be right after all?

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series Piece of Cake. He is also the lead in the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

Fantastic Fiction

Loved the library setting and the quality of gentle and genteel mystery. The narrator as usual does an exquisite job of narrating. Don't miss this short and surprising mystery series.

Wonderful Story, Characters, Setting and Narrator

The Bunberry series is very easy to love. The characters are colorful, compelling and cantankerous. The setting is Cotswold charming. Every book has a challenging puzzle to solve. And it’s all brought to life by fabulously skillful narrator, Nathaniel Parker. No sooner have I finished a Bunburry book than I am ready for the next one.

Helena Marchmont has created a world that’s exciting to visit and far from a sleepy Cotswold village. While waiting for the next Bunburry cosy mystery, it’s fun to suppose who might play this excellent cast of characters if the series were brought to television. 5 stars all the way around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Cozy Mystery Series

I love this series of books. Most of the characters are likeable and entertaining, and the storylines are good. Aflie and Oliver are adorable. The only problem I have is that Marge has gone from funny and charming to shrill, narrowminded, opinionated and bigoted. I have no idea why the author did this, but with each book I'm finding myself liking Marge less and less. As for Emma, she needs to take the sergeants exam, then the village needs to contact the main office of the constabulary and demand that Sgt Wilson be retired or transferred. Heck, Emma is already doing her job AND Wilson's job!

Enjoyabke

this book was very enjoyable. The young boy working in the library was a great addition to the list of characters in this book. He gave the story a different twist.

could use few hundred more

light cozy mystery fun loveable characters -- and some really hilarious bits, with realistic life-saness mixed in. -- could use few hundred of these as background chatter when doing physical work ... will be relistening. i might should give 5 stars, but for 3+ hour shorties? i'm a little stingey...
