Publisher's summary

From best-selling, lesbian author Erin Wade comes a new and different action/adventure/romance title. You will cheer and cry for Courtney and Sage, as they navigate first-time experiences for both of them.

Award-winning producer Courtney Southerland turned down lucrative career opportunities to learn the truth about the legend of Palo Duro Canyon. Determined to track down the famous Black Panther and the girl that had been seen with it, Court devoted two years of her life living in caves and tents as she tracked the pair through the second largest canyon in the United States. She was about to relegate the panther’s legend to the category of Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster when the girl appeared from nowhere to save her life.

Love the story, characters and scifi elements.

Really enjoyed the documentary spin on the hunt for a black jaguar and human girl. The tension, mystery and narrative was excellent. Narration great.

Can't wait for more.

This is an amazing book. The main characters were very well done and I enjoyed their development even Kinga and Jake are awesome. I enjoyed how Kinga (a black panther) and Jake (a dog) became friends and I would like to have seen more interaction with them and the development of their friendship or at least their tolerance of each other.

Erin, a beautifully written book.
Melody, wonderful narration and the voices were excellent.

I read all kinds of books from non-fiction to science fiction and everything between and it amazes me when discussing fantasy or fiction books with my partner or friends and they point out things are not real and argue how this or that can’t happen or is totally false and they have to be reminded that it is FICTION…it is FANTASY so get over it and enjoy the book for what it is and I tell them if they want reality to go outside and enjoy the day.

With that off my chest.

In a book of fiction or fantasy anything is possible especially when it is not supposed to be in the real world.

So much is wrong with this book

Can we talk about how the MC Courtney at 26, becomes infatuated, has incredibly inappropriate relations with and then grooms the 16yo feral girl who knows nothing of humans. All the while telling herself she has to wait till she's 18 to do anything proper with the girl? Then marries her on the 18th birthday and like the whole family and town is there for it and NO ONE QUESTIONS WHY SHE IS DATING A GIRL JUST TURNING 18? Omg, just start her age at 18 if you are going to write such a big deal about her "coming of age" for legality reasons. The MC is literally a predator and no one around her bats an eye.

Everything is handed to these MCs. There is literally never any adversity they face. The entire story just reads like sentence after sentence and not a story, if that makes sense.

The narration is fine. Not great, but was distinct enough with voices to add what little life needed to be added in order to make it through this book.

Very preachy

It started out decently and the wild girl was cute, but it went downhill after that. Most of this seemed to just be the author preaching her own beliefs. The secular vs sacred scientists thing was so ridiculous. The author just regurgitates some creationist buzz words and you can tell that no real research was done. It’s not even science fiction because there is literally no science.

I love a good age gap but this was cringey

I am an incredibly sexually progressive person. I love a good age gap romance as they reflect my dating. The plot to the story was great & the characters were like able. Where the author lost me was making the character 13 years old! Now had she said the character was 16 or 17 and said love interest was waiting until they were 18 I probably would have been okay. I listened as long as I could because I like a few of the Authors other books. I wanted to give it a fair chance. The further along the book went the more apparent it was that the power balance was unethical. It also drug on for so long with no real direction. I ended up not finishing the last 2 hours. This book seems like it was a great idea with less than stellar execution.
