Publisher's summary

Crimson Arrows: A Bowhunting Odyssey is narrated from the heart and soul of a bowhunter. Spanning three decades of his adventures, Eyad Yehyawi takes you through the emotions, heartbreaks, and successes from his earliest years in Iowa, to physically and psychologically challenging backcountry hunts in Alaska and Canada, to a breathtaking African safari. Every setback and missed opportunity is revealed, along with the rewards earned through hard work and perseverance. Through these 32 stories, Eyad defines his passion for the outdoors, including the disappointments and mishaps, sleepless nights, and tears, and a few instances where death comes calling.

With intense descriptions of his surroundings, animal behavior, and imposing weather conditions, Eyad engages all of your senses as you share his adventures. Whether you long for giant whitetails and spring gobblers, are passionate to pursue mountain goats and moose in Alaska, dream of wading across the tundra for caribou, hope to stalk musk oxen in the Arctic, or aspire to trail a horse-killing cougar in the mountains of Alberta, you’ll find stories here to inspire you.

A deep, personal, and tasteful telling of the hunt

For hunters and nonhunters, the stories of the hunt will draw you in to experience the chase. The author offers that time afield is a sensory feast and the pursuit is described in a fashion that is neither revolting nor bloodlust. The harvesting of an animal is anti-climatic yet the primary purpose, one of accomplishment that carries necessity, pride, and respect of all things natural and primal.

Wonderful Stories!

Loved every story from the back 40 turkey and deer hunts to the more adventuresome hunts in far away places!

All bow hunters should listen to this

After starting I couldn't stop listening. Could relate to a lot of the stories due to me starting at a young age bow hunting.
Very well put together.
Will listen to this again.

Well written & well narrated! Really pulls you in!

Really enjoyed this audiobook. The writing is very descriptive. It creates such rich imagery for each adventure and lets you share in the drama of the hunt. It's also surprisingly funny at times... actually laughed out loud at one point while listening in my car. More than anything else, though, it highlights the best aspects of bowhunting that are often hard to describe...the friendships built, the lessons of both successes & defeats, the ethics of bowhunting...all find their way into the stories again and again. The narrator's voice is just perfect for such a series of adventure stories, making the drama, humor, disappointment, and elation all come to life. This was the perfect audiobook for a long road trip that took me across the Midwest recently. I suspect it will be a welcome listen for many hunters during their early morning drive out to some distant tree stand. Makes you get excited for the fall!
