Publisher's summary

While building a wilderness trail for a new five-star resort in Spellbound Falls, underachieving playboy Alec MacKeage rescues a beautiful woman who is being chased by kidnappers and agrees to let her hide out with him for a few days. But when those days stretch past a week, Alec finds himself fighting his attraction to the mysterious Jane Smith - despite knowing the woman isn't who she claims to be. Then again, neither is he....

On the run from her own life, Jane is really Carolina Oceanus - and she'll do anything to avoid the six ancient-minded men her father has brought to Maine to vie for her hand in marriage. But as the maddening competition heats up, Carolina realizes that she'll have to come clean to Alec, the seductive loner who's managed to capture her heart....

I didn't like that Carolina sounded like Peg from the 2nd book. Really good.

Finally the audiobook!

I read these Janet Chapman’s books many years ago. I loved this series but I wish the previous series would have come out in audio as well.

You can read this series without having read the previous one, but I would recommend reading it to have a better understanding of the why/when/where the Highlanders, the Druids, and the magic are brought to the present, and all the mayhem that ensues because of it.

It would give you a better understanding of the “magic” part of the books, and how the original Highlanders were brought to the present and why.

Anyway, I was glad to have part of the series come out in audio.

The narrator does a great job, too.

Recommended audiobook!

So great to visit Spellbound Falls again!

I purchased the kindle version of this book when it first came out in 2012 and really enjoyed reading the story of Carolina and Alec. I was lucky enough to be introduced to talent of Ms. Chapman's magical storytelling earlier on with her first book, "Charming the Highlander" and have read every subsequent title since. It was with great sadness I heard of her passing three years ago, so what a great surprise I saw this title being made available in audible two weeks ago! Thank you to both the publisher and to Ms. Chapman's family for making this happen. I enjoyed Allyson Ryan's performance of the book, and so happy to revisit the town of Spellbound Falls and seeing the residence of that town once more. I hope the remaining Spellbound Falls (if not all of Ms. Chapman's books) will be converted to audio versions as well so people like me that might have enough time to read but can continue experiencing the magic through listening.
