The Mike Birbiglia bandwagon exploded with 2011’s Sleepwalk With Me, a stand-up smash that spawned a Billboard chart-topper, New York Times best-selling book, and an award-winning feature film. Two Drink Mike captures Birbiglia at a more formative stage in his career, his unique brand of humor nevertheless well honed. Birbiglia’s style has been described as likeable, familiar, and down-to-earth, and indeed, his quirky suburban drawl and good-natured ramblings call to mind the weird kid next door who likes to eat pizza (to which end, Birbiglia clarifies, "My family’s not real Italian, we’re, like, Olive Garden Italian"). A good kid at that, Birbiglia worries that the rappers on MTV Cribs are secretly "dying inside", and introduces listeners to his George W. Bush alter ego, "Wiffle Ball Tony".

I should probably start by saying, I'm not really big on stand up comedy. But I had heard Mike Birbiglia several times on PRI's This American Life (a podcast I highly recommend BTW) and he was so funny I had to hear one of his stand ups. Two Drink Mike is funny, self deprecating and charming. I've listened to it twice in the last two months and I laugh until my ribs hurt every time. Get it. It's the funniest thing I've listened to in a very long time.
Love this site! I have a very busy job, so listening to audio books enables me to keep up on great stories!

If you like Mike's comedy, this is a great one. There's a bit of overlap between this and the things I've seen on Comedy Central, but overall it's funny. Worth a listen!
