Publisher's summary

A fourth volume of highlights from recent series of The News Quiz, presented by chairman Simon Hoggart.

Since 1977, BBC Radio 4's funniest and quirkiest game show has been answering questions and offering wit and wisdom on global happenings, national news and quite frankly pathetic parochial events.

I love it but do you have to be British?

I love The News Quiz, it's appointment listening for me. It's not just the witty take on the week's news but also the way the contestants play off against each other.

However, I have to issue a warning - this is a British topical radio programme, so by the time you listen to it, it will have lost some of its topicality! If you are not a Brit, you may find some of the subject matter obscure.

We Brits are not very kind to those in authority, so if you think that George Bush walks on water, you may be offended (but if you don't, you may be delighted!)

If you want to "try before you buy", you could see if TNQ is running on the BBC website (it isn't always on), and use their "listen again" feature. That will give you a taster, for which this book is feast.

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
