"The nearest this country has to the legendary Lenny Bruce." (Evening Standard)
I love Audiobooks. I listen to roughly 50-100 hours a month. It's a good thing I work for Audible!
I was expecting something more clever or interesting. It wasn't particularly funny, and recounted stories about English Celebrities I've never heard of and had to look up on Wikipedia to get the context. Even then, it wasn't really funny.
Not made it. Maybe write down some material and self-edit.
Performance isn't going to save something that has no content.
It was short?
Don't waste your time.
Russell Brand in this show took me by the hand and enchanted me to his sexual prowess nature and enticing brilliance! Russell Brand you are a DIETY!!!! I love your work, Russell! :)
I saw Russell Brand on a talk show and thought he was hilarious. So, I was hoping to laugh my ass off at his performance. I didn't hear much that was profound, especially after having just listened to comedian Steven Wright who writes such clever, brainy comedy. I laughed a little with Brand. But, I found he mostly talked to the audience about himself as a celebrity and used a lot shock sex and political jokes to get laughs.
A sidesplitting romp of various and sundry forbidden subjects by Russell Brand. Russell is a very guilty pleasure who is best shared with the right sort of friends. The whole performance is very much not safe for work, not safe for those easily offended, and may cause grave harm to barn-yard animals. You should not operate heavy machinery while under the influence of this man.
Brand ruminates on the beautiful mess he has made of his life, and this kind of self revelation is not for everyone. It is a raw and unvarnished exposition where the humor lies in the brutal honesty of the performer. If this kind of humor appeals to you, then Russell Brand is your man; if not, perhaps Bill Cosby is more to your liking?
I never intended to like Russell Brand but when I first listened to his stand up I found myself in hysterics, Scandalous was no different. Russell really pushes the boundaries between funny and cringe worthy but never fails to entertain. He is clearly very intelligent but very crazy!!!! Highly recommended.
