Jim Gaffigan’s stand-up act includes a running commentary by a hush-voiced, rather conservative-sounding older lady who is probably Midwestern. She frequently "appears" in this recorded version of an hour-long set at Giggles comedy club to comment on how pale the fat, white, "anti-semitic"-looking Gaffigan is. Yes, jokes about the comic’s appearance are in full tilt, as are jokes about marriage, babies, Catholicism (the pope is "the Catholic superhero"), and much more.
A word of caution: This is a "clean" version of an adult stand-up set, so some of the jokes are cut by a brief silence. The mind supplies what the ear has not heard.

"Gaffigan continuously keeps the audience laughing with what appears to be great ease, especially when discussing his Midwestern upbringing. Overall, an impressive debut and finally some respect for a comedian who is long overdue for larger-scale recognition." (Rob Theakston, All Music Guide)
