Publisher's summary

The thinking person's comic who uses words as weapons, George Carlin shares all-new, cutting-edge opinion and observational humor in this best seller. Carlin demolishes everyday values and leaves you laughing out loud. Learn what he thinks of sports fans, how he would improve the TV networks, his suggestions for "Legal Murder Once a Month," and his plan for "World Peace Through Dancing." Performed by Carlin himself, and filled with thoughts, musings, questions, lists, beliefs, curiosities, monologues, assertions, assumptions, and other verbal ordeals, Brain Droppings is infectiously funny.

If you like the Carlin of late...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

George Carlin went through an very noticeable evolution as a comic. The comic in his latter days is the comic of this book. If you remember him as the Hippy Dippy Weatherman, then this is not the same comic. Brain Droppings is a book of comic observations of the stupid things humans do and say and Carlin has no sympathy for us a a species.

What about George Carlin’s performance did you like?

Carlin performs the reading of the book with the same style and well practiced performance that you would see when attending a live standup performance.(Which I was lucky enough to experience once.) The show I saw live was repeated verbatim a few months later on HBO.

Not much energy, disappointing.

Not as good as the live stuff I've heard, which I loved and why I bought this book. No energy, somewhat flat delivery, comes across as a bit of a whiner. Some parts were funny, but I found myself wanting to get through it just to be done with it.

Kratchety Uncle George

Would you listen to Brain Droppings again? Why?

i listen again and again. i share his raunchy sense of humor.

What other book might you compare Brain Droppings to and why?

Napalm & Silly Putty I & 2. He has a great balance between 'righteous ranting' and 'raunchy humor'. George was a genius. i miss him.

Perfectly named book

This is exactly what I would imagine as the brain droppings of George Carlin, now that I think about it. If you're expecting political commentary, you'll be disappointed, but listening to him reminded me of the kind of things my dad would say so it was a nice, easy listen over Father's Day weekend.

Interesting

George's droppings certainly engages my brain. Really made me think. However, I didn't give this book very high mark because I didn't find it especially funny. Not in the rolling on the floor with stomach pain sort of way, which was what I was hoping for. Maybe it's just my sense of humor.

Below expectations

Even though some parts are funny, the general book is below my expectations. I too could hardly wait to get done with the book so I can put on a new one. Of the 40 books I've read so far, this is the first one that gets deleted.
