Editorial reviews

In this live recording of George Carlin’s ninth HBO special, the critically acclaimed, fanatically adored, politically divisive comedian jumps right into the tough stuff. Abortion, religion, racism, American prison culture - you name it, Carlin has an opinion he isn’t afraid to share, and better, an opinion expressed so sharply that he seems sometimes to draw and quarter the opposing team absolutely without effort. Carlin, a boisterous and unapologetic performer with an arresting vocal presence, manages that rarest of things: to spout easy insults and vulgarities that nevertheless express thoughtful and intelligent considerations about the state of modern society. Carlin is liberal as they come, and not for everyone, but this raucous performance is not to be missed.

Great

Nonstop humor. He came out out the gate firing and didn't let up until he was done.

George Carlin is Irreplaceable!

Even though George passed away over 10 years (June, 2008) his comedy is still as relevant today as it was when he first brought his unbelievably gifted craft to our stages.

Unfortunately, I never had the pleasure of seeing him live. He is so relatable because he is one of us. His fame did not change his authenticity or passions.

His messages are so glaringly obvious when he’s telling his observations on life, and George was the best teacher!
He’s the gift that keeps on giving and giving, bringing smiles to peoples faces through his audio and video recordings, which will be passed down from generation to generation.

It is rare to find a multifaceted comic who doesn’t have to try or scan the world for material. His life is his material, and we are getting a man who is a genuine anomaly, and just grateful he left behind his priceless performances.

There are many gifted comedians who I greatly admire and appreciate, yet George Carlin is in a league all his own and a true Godfather and mentor for other up and comers during his career.

I have to say listening to George I truly am: “Fine AND Dandy!”
