Brilliantly conceived and splendidly executed, this is a novel that has seized the imagination of generations of adults and children alike. And as David Cordingly points out in his afterward, Treasure Island is also the best and most influential of all pirate stories.

A great fan of stories and audiobooks. Good ones.
Within a few moments you realize this is something special. The same classic enjoyed years ago, but brought to life in full measure in the hands of the amazing Alfred Molina. A bedtime story told by a master narrator, an actor. Of all the audio books you might listen to in a year, this will either be the best, or among the best. What a treat. Every moment. Thank you Mr. Molina.
A great adventure. A range of characters from innocent to bullying to shrewd to gullible to an evil genius all brought to life by one of the best narrators I've had the pleasure to listen to through audible.com. And let's not forget the adventure itself -- a search for buried treasure. This was as magical as the Harry Potter books. Download it! It will become an instant favorite.
About 9 min into the recording, it sounds like his mike is not plugged in fully, there is terrible noise and distortion, extremely distracting. I kept listening, but it continues intermittently. This is supposed to be professional recording?!? Totally unacceptable.
Treasure Island is probably my favorite book. Written in the 1800s(!) and still just as entertaining today. (and I am an adult female, so not really the intended audience...)
The relationship between Jim and Long John Silver is the most interesting aspect of this book.
Alfred Molina really nailed it. He is now my favorite narrator.
This book is a classic that is always good to read but the narrators voice and accents only make the story come more alive! Would definitely recommend this audibook.
Yes, this is a great book, and a great story, but the performance by Alfred Molina adds something it. This one of the most perfect recordings I've heard. Don't miss this one.
