Would you listen to To Kill a Mockingbird again? Why?

The Audible version did not disappoint me after having read the book and watched the movie repeatedly. Sissy Spacek was a superb choice to perform this audio especially in her interpretation of Scout.

What was one of the most memorable moments of To Kill a Mockingbird?

The retelling of the events the night Jen and Scout are attacked are absolutely gripping.

Scout came as alive in this audio as she was in the movie.

I cried several times. And I laughed with the children a lot.

I enjoy my Audio membership. A lot. This is the first Audio titled that has excited me to the point of writing a review. It is the best audio ever!!!

No Bad Review Here

The last time I read this book, I was in high school! I'm not going to tell you how long ago that was, but let's just suffice it to say it was a long time ago. When I read it originally, this book introduce me to a world of racism that I didn't know existed! Now, as an adult I am seeing all of the other levels that it works on. so, if you read it as a kid, pick it up and try it out again. You might be surprised to see how well it holds it's value!

A Classic Classic

A great book can be ruined by the reader. A great book can be made to come alive by a talented reader. Sissy Spacek breathes energy into this timeless classic with her portrayal of Scout the books storyteller, as well as each of the other characters. Wow!

Have always loved this book. This is beautiful.

It was so so so good I loved the story the characters and the narrator

A Masterpiece Story Read by the Perfect Voice

This may be one of the greatest coming-of-age tales ever written, and its major themes are as relevant as they ever were. Ms. Lee powerfully draws the reader's attention to the issues of racial tension, inequity, and the need for moral courage, all through the words and perspective of a little Tomboy named Scout Finch. Furthermore, there is no better literary role model than Atticus Finch, whose moral compass seems better dialed to true north than most people.
Finally, Sissy Spacek's narration perfectly captures the voice of Scout Finch. Her pacing is perfect and her Southern accent adds true authenticity.

Best book

I know why this is a classic! How fortuitous that Harper Lee was persuaded to rewrite Go Set a Watchman to become this book. Everyone should read it.

Beautiful in every way

It's always been a wonderful novel, but Sissy Spacek's narration brings it alive like no one else could. Her soft, truly southern drawl brought the dialect to a new level.

What does Sissy Spacek bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She is a master actor who can slip seamlessly from the childish Scout to a cranky mrs. DeBose to the pensive ethical Atticus She makes this novel of time and place come alive with every nuanced accent and attitude. Thank you immensely ms Spacek!
