I'm glad that I ignored those who complained about the narration of this wonderful story for children. Ms. Hathaway - who turned out NOT to be the one from The Beverly Hillbillies - did an absolutely delightful job with all the voices. She made it really fun, and a bit silly sometimes, just like I used to do back when my kiddies were small. It is a first-rate performance, with emphasis on performance.

Fabulous narration

Anne Hathaway is brilliant in this narration. Every character's voice is full of life and varied. Clever. Some sophisticated. Some quite funny. I had only seen the movie and this was a wonderful interpretation of a well known story.

Would you listen to The Wonderful Wizard of Oz again? Why?

I listened with my 2 children, ages 8 & 9. Anne does an amazing job of doing a wide variety of voices,from Dorothy to the mouse queen to the great wizard himself. I love how my children were able to read along on my kindle fire. The words highlight as Anne reads.

I started watching the new show Emerald City the other day and thought I'd read this again. I haven't read it since college. My history teacher explained the meaning behind everything in great detail about the bimetallic standard, William Jennings Bryan, factory workers, farmers, etc. etc. etc. Every character, place and thing stood for something. I don't remember a lot of it, and I had even forgotten some of the changes from the book to the movie. I thought I'd try the audiobook this time. Anne Hathaway does a great job. I enjoyed it, and I'm planning to continue the Oz book series. I've never read the others before.

We all know the story but I loved Anne Hathaway's reading. I smiled the whole way thru it. I really enjoy listening to audible books I drive alot it passes the time. But I really think everyone of all ages would enjoy this book. She does a great job with the different voices.

more adventures an Anne does a great performance with all the characters. very impressive and enjoyable.

Wizard of Oz with Anne Hathaway

I purchased this book for my 25 year old daughter to read as she is vision impaired and hasn't read many books in the last few years. She liked the idea of Kindle so I learnt her mine and I picked a story that she knew, to make it easier for her to get her interest back in reading or listening to audio books. She really loved listening to the voice of Anne Hathaway as Anne read The Wonderful World of Oz and is quite keen to listen to more audio books and purchase her own Kindle. I showed my daughter how to get the voice on Kindle to read any books to her but she didn't like it as much. As I am an avid reader, I will be purchasing a Kindle for my daughter for Christmas and many more audio books to come.
