Publisher's summary

The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings.

The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape.

In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Whether you're a longtime fan of the books, a lover of the movies, or totally new to The Lord of the Rings, it's likely you've got some questions about the major characters. One of the three Hobbits who set out from the Shire alongside Frodo, Merry comes into his own during the War of the Ring and plays a small but essential part in the larger story. Merry, like his dear friend and comrade Pippin, is proof that no one is ever too small to change the world.

Write a bad review, I dare you.

I read the LOTR trilogy in high school around the time the movies came out and have watched the movies countless times since.

Revisiting these epics in audiobook form and taking in the rich Tolkien text again after years of watching the movies is like going on another first date with my wife: it puts butterflies in my tummy, reminds me of why we fell in love in the first place, and makes the love I already have stronger.

…and Rob Inglis is an absolute treasure.

***my onlyyy critique is: I would appreciate if someone would go and add in the chapter titles please!!***

Deeply engaging. Engrossing. So good. I am so deeply thankful to own it and be able to listen to it in future years.

The narrator was exceptional!!

I enjoyed this version better than the movie. An exciting story made better by the narrator.

Both audio versions are excellent!

This version was excellent, this is my second time through and I also have Andy‘s version too, both excellent for different reasons. Enjoyed this one thoroughly!

Shame on Amazon for changing the cover art

I've loved these recordings, and their classic cover art, for years. The Rings of Power this is not - regardless of how you feel about the show, it's crass and shameful to replace beautiful Tolkien-esque artwork with tacky TV promo shots.

I hang on every word

The greatest fantasy story ever ever told and that’s all I have to say about that.

Amazon, Why are you Terrible?

Lotr The Two Towers is great! It's just Amazon in their pride replacing the iconic original artwork on their store. Why is fake-Gilgalad from RoP the picture on the cover? Don't know. Is he actually in the book? He is like slightly mentioned in passing, maybe (I might be confusing this with the Appendices in RotK)

In short, don't buy this untill Amazon changes the cover art back. Is that petty? Yes, but so are they for changing it in the first place.
