Publisher's summary

The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings.

The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape.

In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

These books SLAP

Robert does a fantastic job narrating these books, great for those of us who don't have time to sit and read a book.

Rob gets better

Rob Ingliss performs much better in this than in the first book. I think his singing even improved somewhat.

Too proper

The narrator does an excellent role job, but is too high grit for total enjoyment

Good book

Good use of voices, though occasionally it sounded like the narrator used the wrong one. This is a very minute criticism, and it’s so infrequent that it doesn’t detract from the performance. I think Sam’s character is better in the movies, but this book obviously came way before so I guess it’s the “right” one. Very good book, very good reader
