Extraordinary performance
The recording of this book was evocative of the time it was written and immediately brought me into middle earth. I’d recommended this narration for those who have and haven't read the book, as there is always something for everyone in the world Tolkien created, imagined to even more extraordinary lengths in this audiobook.

you gotta work a little
The narrator is inconsistent with doing voices for characters and not doing voices and the character voices change intermittently which is distracting from the story. inflection is also inconsistent when he has an excited voice in relaxed passages and a relaxed voice in more exciting passages.
great story, maybe the the narration needs an upgrade. just like reading you gotta use your imagination.
