Publisher's summary

The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings.

The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape.

In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Featured Article: Boromir—A Lord of the Rings Character Guide

Among the array of characters in The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, one of the most intriguing is Boromir. Son of Denethor and heir to the Steward of Gondor, Boromir is present in only a small part of the trilogy. He first appears at the Council of Elrond, and dies before the end of Book One, The Fellowship of the Ring. Yet even though he is the only major character to die so early in the series, he plays an important role.

Trees Singing and Hobbits Climbing

Having watched the movies before reading the books, I was surprised to find that the movie lengthens the Battle of Helms Deep, whereas the book only spends a chapter on it. A great book overall, just know that the book covers the whole second and first 1/3 of the third movie. I look forward to seeing what the third book covers that the movie doesn't.

The original stories, with reasonable reading ease

Reading Tolkien on audiobook is less laborious than book form, and the reader is stellar!

Never disappointed.

This is about the 10th time I've read this series but the first time in audio. Although nothing beats reading an actual book, this was great.

Brilliant storytelling and delivery!

Rob Inglis delivers a performance worthy of the masterpiece he's reading. I trust that Tolkein would be proud.

Rob Inglis is great.

This voice actor knows what he's doing and makes the books amazing.
He is comparable and better than Roy Dotrice the guy who did the Game of Thrones books, and that guys is fantastic too!
