Poor and monotone narration.

Enjoyed the story but the narrator was very boring and had odd pauses. Choose a different narrator if you can and enjoy!

Fascinating Classic, Poor Narration

Would you try another book from H. G. Wells and/or Alan Munro?

I enjoyed this Victorian fantasy, and seeing where so much about time travel originated, but the narration nearly ruined it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Alan Munro’s performances?

No.

Poor Performance

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Not time well spent. The reading was not well done. It was choppy and lacked continuity. I cannot believe that there so many words pronounced differently between American and British English.

I would if Monro is Not the reader.

Great story. HORRIBLE narrator..

I loved this story when I was young. The book is quite wonderful. This narrator ruined it for me. He sounds like a broken robot. Just AWFUL!

This Recording

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I will not review the story as this classic has been scrutinized enough. As for the performance, I find nothing impressive and nothing that is really dreadful. I have seen the common complaint of the readers speech is staggered and slow. It is not as horrid as described, however I have found that if you have the app for audible and set the reader to 2x speed, then it sounds perfectly normal.

Not a fan of the performance

The story was fantastic. I found "the Time Traveller" frustrating as he didn't quite think things through before doing them.

The performance was difficult to listen to. The reader would pause at inappropriate times, which I felt took away from the story.
