A clasic

A fascinating idea and future. Firmly grounded in pre -nuclear age science. A fun listen but the narration is languid. A very pleasing voice but no dramatic tension in the recitation.

The reader reminds me of Captain Kirk...

it is very difficult to remain engaged into the story because the reader stops at every line.

The use of language. Forgotten now. Replaced by talking phones and lazy minds.

I know this story well. With this recording I found it hard to listen to. The reader attempted to do the voice of Capt James T Kirk. throwing commas and periods around willy-nilly. Very interesting. It unlikely I will listen to any other of his recordings.

Great story. Terrible reader.

The story stands up to my childhood memory of reading it - hardly any visits from the racism and sexism fairies who have ruined so many childhood favorites, and an entertaining tale well told.

The narrator sounds like Captain Kirk on a very bad day. His... pauses and weird... stresses... make this story... harder to... follow, though it... is easy to fall... asleep... while listening.

Unless you are using it to fall asleep, in which case I recommend it 100%, having used it extensively for that purpose, you should find a different narrator for this classic and excellent tale.

Very robotic voice

I have read this book several times and love it. However, the reader is very robotic and monotone. Makes me go to sleep

Classic tale, but terrible narration

Wells' classic tale would hold up remarkably well were it not for the ham-handed narration on this title. Munro's delivery is so stilted and fraught with pauses at all the wrong places that it was difficult to finish this title. Possibly the most poorly narrated audiobook I've encountered. At first I thought this was some sort of glitchy text-to-speech experiment, but I am left to wonder whether an automated reader might have done a better job.

After finishing the title, I am left wishing I could travel in time so that I could get my $0.49 back. Guess you get what you pay for...

Fascinating imagination

Fantastic!
What a story!
I watched the old film as a child and did not recall it really. Just that it was frightening. Well now I know why I thought so - because it is true! I liked the narrater a lot. Thank you!

Monotonous Narrative

Classic story, poor narrative. Odd pausing, little inflection, and lack of emotion makes this wonderful book a zzzzzzzzz.
