This is one of my childhood favorites, but do yourself a favor and buy one of the other versions. This narrator does her very best to kill this wonderful book.

Disappointing reading of a favorite story
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I loved this book as a kid and bought it to re-read before seeing the musical/play. The woman reading it speaks clearly, but "broad Yorkshire" accents are crucial to the spirit of the story and totally missing from the narrator's range.
Would you be willing to try another one of Victoria McGee’s performances?
Only if she doesn't have to do anything other than an American female's voice.

Not great at first but it got better
I really didn’t like the narrator at first, she sounded robotic, but I couldn’t figure out how to return the book so I kept listening and once I got used to her, I enjoyed it to the end.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
I enjoyed this audio version and I think the narrator did a splendid job of differentiating the voices. The book is a classic because the story is engaging, well written, and would be enjoyable for children as well as adults. Because the language is difficult the audio may be preferable to reading.

I don't get the negative reviews!
the narrator is so soothing I use this one to unwind before bed. I like the different voices and I'm glad they are subtle enough to flow but distinct enough to easily tell the difference.

Not a fan of the narrator but great book.
I loved the story and the message that if you think negative things your life won’t improve.
But the narrator was kinda of monotone and didn’t sound right in some parts. But I would listen to it again.
