Story
E. M. Forster's first novel is a witty comedy of manners that is tinged with tragedy. It tells the story of Lilia Herriton, who proves to be an embarrassment to her late husband's family as, in the small Tuscan town of Monteriano, she begins a relationship with a much younger Italian man - classless, uncouth, and highly unsuitable. A subtle attack on Edwardian values and a humanely sympathetic portrayal of the clash of two cultures, Where Angels Fear to Tread is also a profound exploration of character and virtue.

Publisher's summary
The first of four volumes, published during the years 1873-1876, it is considered to be the archetypal, erotic Victorian novel. Young Charlie Roberts exudes an insatiable sexual appetite. His proclivities are awakened by Mrs Benson, a friend of the family. Charlie immediately applies his knowledge in sexual encounters with siblings and in the ultimate wooing of the exquisite family governess, Miss Emily.
Originally banned in the United States, scenes of various sexual activities may shock many modern listeners.

When the narrator of Swann's Way dips a petite madeleine into hot tea, the act transports him to his childhood in the French town of Combray. Out of his Pandora's box of reflections comes a memory of an old family friend, Swann - a man who was long ago undone by romantic desire and cruel reality. In this reverie lie the insights the author seeks about his own life and ageless truths about the ephemeral nature of emotions, places, and, ultimately, love.

Story
Set in the industrialising England of the Napoleonic wars, a period of bad harvests, Luddite riots, and economic unrest, Shirley is the story of two contrasting heroines and the men they love. One is the shy Caroline Helstone, trapped in the oppressive atmosphere of a Yorkshire rectory, whose life represents the plight of single women in the 19th century. The other is the vivacious Shirley Keeldar, who inherits a local estate and whose wealth liberates her from convention.

Story
Will a mysterious note from the past doom the love of Jane Austen’s most beloved couple? A Peculiar Connection begins near the close of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Bent on preventing the engagement of her nephew to Elizabeth Bennet, Lady Catherine de Bourgh declares that any union between Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth would be “a sin against Heaven itself!” Her shocking revelation, along with a cryptic message written over twenty years earlier, thrusts the couple into a whirlwind of heartbreak and disbelief.

Story
The unapologetic intensity with which Emily Brontë wrote this story ensures that it will forever be considered one of the greatest works of English literature. A passionate tale of a chaotic and often violent love, Wuthering Heights transcends your average romance and, with its Gothic undertones, takes the listener on a journey through one man's lustful hunt for revenge.

Great except female voice acting/ casting
The dialogue at times don't come out naturally enough from the female side. Male sounds ok when voice narrator's except when he pretend to be his younger self. Needs a larger cast. Still overall enjoyable. Hopefully all volumes get translated.

Did Priscilla Carson and Roger Frisk do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
not the issue
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
incomplete
Any additional comments?
when you sell an audio book you should make it clear that is in incomplete.
