I had a copy of this on cassete tape, loved to listen to it then and even more now, Ipod makes it so much easier to enjoy.. Inspiring to listen to in this format, as in its prior overly listened cassete format.. Enjoyed listening to it this morning at work before the day began.. Narrator, pleasant to hear,, and as always Khail Gibran a pleasure to visit again and again....
Say something about yourself!
The Prophet is Gibran???s masterpiece, a wonderful blending of timeless wisdom with beautiful poetry. I???ve read the book and have heard other audio versions, but this recording by the late Paul Sparer is without equal.
This needs to be listened to many times as you will hear something new with every listen. Almost allows you to step out of life and be an observer. Very powerful, very thought provoking, very beautiful.
If it were less preachy.
Written something more worthwhile.
He was fine.
I felt like I was in a Catholic Church where they were propagandizing me all over again with word that had hidden, hidden, hidden meanings that werer supposed to bring out some sort of emotion in me and have me shouting hallelujah. I got 10 minutes into my drive (I listen almost exclusively in the car) and tossed the CDs.
Aloha from Hawaii!
This book will touch your heart and mind for years to come.

I got a bit teary.
Very poetic and timeless.
I have listened to this CD since my son died in 1974. Through each tragedy of my life it has helped me to understand and deal with life...
His voice is soothing and I have listened to other versions of this book, but Paul Sparer's is the best.
I found this audiobook to be very enjoyable and relaxing to listen to. I have listened to it about 3 times now, once all the way through and then intermittently as I was falling asleep or just unwinding. Gibran's insight is timeless and very grounding.
