Publisher's summary

Next to The Bible, The Pilgrim's Progress has probably been more widely read than any other book in the English language, and rightfully so. It is considered by most critics as the greatest allegory in any language. And to think that it was written by a jailed tinker who received very little formal education.

This is the enthralling account of a Christian's epic journey. With a burden on his back, Christian reads a book that tells him that the city in which he and his family dwell will be set ablaze. Christian flees from the City of Destruction and journeys through the Slough of Despond, the Interpreter's House, the House Beautiful, the Valley of Humiliation, the Valley of the Shadow of Death, Vanity Fair, Doubting Castle, and the Delectable Mountains, and finally reaches the Celestial City.

Theology in an Allegorical Nugget

Very solid theological teaching. Fresh perspective from most sermons today. The only bad thing about the audio is that you miss the nuances of some of Bunyan's character names that you'd be able to catch seeing it in print.

Change of pace

Not exactly riveting stuff, with no car chases, CIA double agents or political scheming. It's well worth a listen when you need a change of pace. Whether you're a deeply-religous Christian, vaguely Christian, of another religion, agnostic or atheist, if you want a relaxing, thought-provoking listen, this is worth a download.

A Timeless Classic

I must read for all Christians. Proof of the beautiful Solid Faith of past Generations who held forth the Cross until it was time for us to grasp.

Simply Amazing

This audiobook was awesome. It made a 12 hour trip to Virginia fly by. It included extra parts like the author's bio and a sequel, all for the price of the book. Love it!

From a Pilgrim in Training

This is truly an interesting book, nothing like I expected. It is well narrated and easy to listen to, and understand. The Narrator has the perfect voice for this book. I also own the book but have never had the chance to read it. so I sometimes read along with the narration but it was more interesting to just listen. This book is similar to "Hinds feet in high places," Which I also really liked in writing and will soon be downloading to listen to.
Great book I will be listening to it again, and again.

Amazing story with so many valuable life lessons

Loved it!
I had to give it a little time, to get accustomed to Middle English. But then the narration took off. I am in my 6th decade, so have experienced the truths in this book. Any young person who reads this, and takes the life lessons to heart will do well. I have already recommended this book to others.

Most Edifying, Holy Spirit Inspired Allegory!

This is just such an amazing similitude! So much can be learned from this! I appreciate and love this book so much. All Christians should listen to this over and over. It contains so many invaluable treasures and it also gives comfort and assurance at the same time. The narrator does a great job as well. All in all, highly recommended.
