The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the most famous supernatural wild chase in all of literature. One of the best known American short stories, this tale has been produced countless times for television and film. A halloween classic!

the story of Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman is not the story for the light-hearted LOL. very colorful and very intricate. the Storyteller was a little stiff. I enjoyed the story overall
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a such a great short(ish) story. The descriptions of the people, scenery, and life in the Hudson valley were excellent. Then there's that neat and very ambiguous supernatural element in it as well.
I read this story back in high school eons ago. Loved it then, love it now. It almost feels contemporary despite its age.
Btw, reading it again made me realise the Disney version of this got the look of Ichabod Crane just right.
It was short and so I could listen to it with few breaks.
Ichabod because he thinks he's got it all figured out on how to get the girl.
He's a good storyteller. His reading is fluid and easy to follow. He pronounces the words well and doesn't make awkward pauses like other narrators sometimes do.
A twist at the end
This was a good story that is about middle school level. It's not particularly one that I feel my 7 year old could follow, but a story I plan to share with him in the future.
Entertaining, humorous, lively
Like Rip Van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow gives an enchanting view into the dynamics of everyday life in colonial times.
Sisco does a splendid job giving distinct voices to each of the characters and does so with attention to the story flow.
Listening to this book brings back happy memories of being read the story as a child. I couldn't help but laugh at the foibles of the character.
As you can tell from my earlier comments, I am quite enthusiastic about this experience. If you purchase this version, you will be, too.
Hi! I love books, but I'm always busy. So thankful for audiobooks! Now I can listen to my books wherever I go!
I absolutely love this story! It has been a favorite for a long, long time. The only con is that Curtis Sisco's reading can actually make me sleepy! Amazing book and great reading.
obviously due to the age of the story alot od the vocabulary used in the telling of this classic tale have since been retired for a lack of a better word. however the tale of sleepyhallow is so well known though media such as tv, movies, radio, and other means that the tale was easy to follow. i think the surprising thing about hearing the reading of this book was the fact that the headless horseman was not such a prominent character that these media outlets make him out to be. since he really didnt play a part till the climax made him a bit erier. i enjoyed the tale and found it to be a great distraction from the trilogy i was working on during the time i listened.
This story remind me of an eloquent Scooby-Doo episode. It is hard to reconcile this evaluation of a virile versus a learned Suitor with the ghost story of my childhood.
"A classic worth reading"
Descriptive, interesting, classic
Ichabod Crane - very well drawn and not designed to be particularly likable.
His performance wasn't bad, but I wasn't bowled over. I suppose there wasn't much of a chance for him to "put on voices" as there wasn't much dialogue.
It was relatively short, so I listened to it in two sittings (perhaps "walkings" is more fitting) over the course of one day. It was good enough to warrant one sitting.
