The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is the most famous supernatural wild chase in all of literature. One of the best known American short stories, this tale has been produced countless times for television and film. A halloween classic!

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a such a great short(ish) story. The descriptions of the people, scenery, and life in the Hudson valley were excellent. Then there's that neat and very ambiguous supernatural element in it as well.
I read this story back in high school eons ago. Loved it then, love it now. It almost feels contemporary despite its age.
Btw, reading it again made me realise the Disney version of this got the look of Ichabod Crane just right.
Entertaining, humorous, lively
Like Rip Van Winkle, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow gives an enchanting view into the dynamics of everyday life in colonial times.
Sisco does a splendid job giving distinct voices to each of the characters and does so with attention to the story flow.
Listening to this book brings back happy memories of being read the story as a child. I couldn't help but laugh at the foibles of the character.
As you can tell from my earlier comments, I am quite enthusiastic about this experience. If you purchase this version, you will be, too.
It was short and so I could listen to it with few breaks.
Ichabod because he thinks he's got it all figured out on how to get the girl.
He's a good storyteller. His reading is fluid and easy to follow. He pronounces the words well and doesn't make awkward pauses like other narrators sometimes do.
A twist at the end
This was a good story that is about middle school level. It's not particularly one that I feel my 7 year old could follow, but a story I plan to share with him in the future.
It's a nice story and rich in details, but sometimes the narrator went a bit too fast and forgot punctuation and intonation; and that made some parts lack emotion. The narration din't help me, as a listener, feel the eerie atmosphere I imgine this story should have.
Yes, I would. But I'd give the sample a good listen before the purchase.
The reader seemed to have no knowledge whatsoever of the purpose of punctuation marks. Never pausing, all throughout the story it seemed he was rambling. It made it almost impossible for me to grasp the thoughts and ideas of the sentences and paragraphs. I do not think I will listen to another story read by this gentleman.
Good story and great narration job with a very good modulated male voice, will listen it again soon! Good story as well.
I'm a web developer based out of Sacramento, I listen to books while I work, and love audible.
Honestly this story was a bit boring. The disney version was actually a lot more entertaining and pretty much the same thing only made fun.
I wouldn't change anything about the book - its a classic tale!
Sisco was speaking way too fast. I even attempted to slow it down by going .75 speed but then I got an echo so I ended up listening to him rush through a great story. I also thought he didn't bring enough emotion to the character of Ichabod. Overall, he could have done more to enhance the story but instead I feel he deminished it.
The story is funny and exciting, I wish it were longer. The story is silly rather than scary. I think Hollywood has turned it into a nightmare situation when the real story is much more comedic. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.
The narration was fine, average.
The main character would be fun to chat with.
I liked it a lot, I only wish it were longer.
"A classic worth reading"
Descriptive, interesting, classic
Ichabod Crane - very well drawn and not designed to be particularly likable.
His performance wasn't bad, but I wasn't bowled over. I suppose there wasn't much of a chance for him to "put on voices" as there wasn't much dialogue.
It was relatively short, so I listened to it in two sittings (perhaps "walkings" is more fitting) over the course of one day. It was good enough to warrant one sitting.
