A true classic
In my opinion one of the best books ever written. A tale of a young man's early success, his bequeathed journey coupled with jealous leading to the deepest of all falls into darkness. After years of pain, trials, and suffering to raise again triumphant like a Phoenix to be the master of all and exact revenge on his enemies while bestowing love on his friends. Wait and Hope!

Loved every minute.
Monte Cristo is one of my favorite books of all times--I read it every year or so. This recording was very pleasant to listen to, and John Lee used just the right amount of accent in his characters voices so that you felt like you were there, and could follow this sometimes-complicated story.
Don't hesitate to download this book. It is SO worth more than one credit.

Great story, great writing, excellent narration
If you could sum up The Count of Monte Cristo in three words, what would they be?
Epic
What other book might you compare The Count of Monte Cristo to and why?
I'd compare this to any revenge story, and favorably. This seems like the template for all such stories that have come since.
What about John Lee’s performance did you like?
He gives each character a unique voice, which with so many characters is no small feat.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is too long and involved to read/listen to all at once. It rewards listening and absorbing over time. It's one to savor.
Any additional comments?
This story is classic, if a bit ornate. You'll be hooked, I'm sure. Just luxuriate in the language and the winding plot. It's a fun, twisting, turning tale.
