Nostalgic romp back into childhood.

If these stories were used more in the children’s series now it would be amazing

A few errors but we'll worth the money overall

It was a good enough read though the narrator takes a bit getting used to. There is also an error in the telling of the stories as Ozma of Oz is told after Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz so you'll need to skip forward and then back again. There are a few misreads which weren't edited out but that didn't really bother me as it added to the authenticity.

Overall when you consider you got 22 stories and about 90 hours of story telling for just one credit its a pretty awesome deal!

the story "Dorothy and the wizard of oz" is out of order. it is in the play list between the woggle bug book and "Ozma of Oz". but takes place AFTER Ozma on Oz.

Glad I finally got around to listening to these…

…but I am only gonna listen once. The amount of imagination to create these books and universe is of course impressive but maybe because I’m not a kid anymore I wasn’t incredibly overwhelmed with most of these stories. In one of the books Ozma, Dorothy and company have dinner with Santa Claus. A bit outside of my suspension of disbelief or I suppose it’s just that…I’m not a kid anymore. The original Wizard of Book is great as well as the book that the movie Return to Oz is based on (though not incredibly faithful to it). For the love of all things, Frank Baum just couldn’t let go of the Nome King. He shows up again and again even though he was supposed to be rehabilitated and diminished in power multiple times. There’s probably other ideas or things I’m forgetting but I don’t want to gloss over the fact that while this narrator does a good job, he has about 5 stock voices that will annoy the hell out of you after about 50 hours (halfway) of listening. Probably less time than that.

All the Oz Stories!

The stories are wonderful. The narrator did a good job with the different characters, giving them life with various voices.
That being said, the fluency of the performance was lacking, and he mispronounced "stingy" -meaning ungenerous- multiple times. It was distracting.

Realistic reading, flubs and all.

Good narration but there were numerous points where the narrator repeated a word or phrase that I am surprised the sound editing didn't remove for the final product.

I thoroughly enjoyed this series of audiobooks!
The stories were fun and the characters endearing. I was surprised to find myself rooting out loud for our protagonists.
The hours flew by but being that there were 91 hours, I had plenty time to enjoy.
The narrator had a myriad of good voices for man, woman and child and all the weird and wonderful animals.
The last story of this series was finished by another author (Ruth Plumy Thompson if I'm not mistaken) due to Frank Baum's passing. His death was gently touched upon in the story. It was sad to know this was the end of the series but it was written very well and on a warm note.

What could L. Frank Baum have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Too much effort to make the characters react and say things to match the worst behavior of any character. This made it impossible to like any of the characters.
The dialog felt forced and very mean spirited.

Did Eric Vincent do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

The narration was the only good part of the book

No, I didn't even get through the half way point before giving up on the book.

I did not finish the book. It was too unenjoyableto continue. I could not reach the point that cared about the characters.

No worth it

The narrator is boring. The audio quality is terrible as I'm chapter 2 and it skips and crackles. Will not purchase again.
