Clear, story like cadence which melts the information like butter on warm toast.

Concise, with great English embellishments that are lacking in every translation of hindu. Enjoyable as a stroll through any great book.

Recommend to me as a resource through a YouTuber channel.

Lip smacking and breathing

This is a wonderful audiobook which has helped me spiritually. Unfortunately in the early portions of the reading, the narrator breathes kind of gross, sniffs, and has awkward pauses between some words. I think it’s because he’s running out of breath? But not always, I can’t pinpoint it. Anyway I can’t listen to it with headphones because it’s like he’s breathing in my ear, and no offense, he doesn’t sound like someone who I’d want to be doing that to me.

Regardless, this is probably the best version of this on Audible, though I reckon it’s abridged. The background droning music makes it almost meditative and a beautiful experience after a bit. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience!!!

What a wonderful experience this version has been. The nuances are impactful and make the experience very relevant for me a simple minded Westerner and poor seeker. The delivery was excellent, the speaker flawless, his emphases subtly helping the light in this great masterpiece shine through.
I highly recommend this book and reading to all. Those on a spiritual quest will find it especially helpful.

The Bhagavad Gita came alive in this book!

I especially loved listening to the author read as Krishna. I felt present at the battlefield, listening and learning.

The Bhagavad Gita: A Walkthrough for Westerners

I really loved this. The author reads his own work here, and he does a very good job. He has a pleasant voice that seems suited to the material. It is not a literal translation word-for-word, more like a distillation in modern English and with the intent to explain the Bhagavad Gita to westerners in particular. He explains the concepts and some of the vocabulary, which I found helpful. There is a sort of soundtrack to the reading, which I did not find intrusive and which I actually thought added something to it - I liked it - but I think some people may find it distracting, so listen to a sample before you buy it. Overall the sound quality was pretty good; I heard papers rattle occasionally, but I became so interested in the material itself that I stopped noticing it if it continued throughout the book. I would recommend this work to anyone who is interested in learning about the Bhagavad Gita or in world religions and beliefs. As soon as I finsihed it, I started it again, because there is a lot to it, and I was fascinated. I wish I'd found this when it was first produced.

Jack Hawley's Bhagavad Gita

Where does The Bhagavad Gita rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It was my second audiobook, and it was fantastic.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the author talks at the end of the book of his personal experience and how the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita helped him and his wife.

Any additional comments?

A book I will surely listen to again.
