It seems that the author has too much negativity to say about monarchy in Russia. I don't think I heard anything positive about any of the tzars. Peter I appeared as a stranger to me in this book. Also it seems like author is not familiar with life is soviet times and how much damage revolution has brought to Russia, how much gold and treasure was stolen and sold. The author describes monarchy Russia in a very negative way.
