"Don't be fooled by the title of this seriocomic ode to success; it's not 'Climb Every Mountain,' kid version. All journeys face perils, whether from indecision, from loneliness, or worst of all, from too much waiting. Seuss' familiar pajama-clad hero is up to the challenge, and his odyssey is captured vividly....Seuss' message is simple but never sappy: life may be a 'Great Balancing Act,' but through it all 'There's fun to be done.'" My 5-6 year-old son loves the narration. We have the book, but as English is not my first language, I wanted a good narration. And this is a very good one, very entertaining, with nice sound effects.
The book is pretty short. What I've done several times is I open the book, put the audio, and move through the pages while it's being narrated.
John Lithgow is reading a book by Dr. Seuss! What more could you ask for?
All the things said have been within me. It hits my issues straight on and lets me know I can move past them to my 98 & 3/4 % guarantee for success! Thank you Dr Seuss!
This book is a book that I have purchased and given to people many times. I have given this book to children, as well as people well over their retirement age! It contains wisdom that is concentrated, precise, concise, simple, and gets easily absorbed by your mind. It helps to quickly "ground" and encourage anyone. The book is "short and sweet" as they say! Now that I've discovered this spectacular audio version of the book, I expect that I will wind up purchasing many audio copies of the book as well! This audio version is the best that I've ever heard. Such a blessing to be able to listen to this book while you do something else physically (like for those automobile trips or commutes. This helps the book's subject matter to enter the conscious and subconscious mind in a much more enjoyable and refreshing manner.
A lover of audiobooks of all kinds, since childhood, when long car journeys were accompanied by Discworld stories. @ReineDesLivres (Twitter)
'Oh the places you'll go' is an amazing book - it's uplifting, inspiring and leaves you feeling enthusiastic about the world and your part in it. This is a great book for children, to tell them that great things lie before them, and a wonderful book for young adults (and not so young adults) to tell them that their talents can lead them to places they never expected. John Lithgow reads this story so well, clearly and with a sense of fun as well as seriousness (when required).
This is an audiobook that you can listen to time and time again, and will never tire. You won't regret it - ninety-eight-and-three-quarter per cent guaranteed.
I love this book - I have the hard copy, kindle and audio. So many messages, so many ideas and way too many useful quotes that I can use on my friends. Love this book for its wonderful narrator (John Lithgow) and how he animates the book.
He makes the book come alive in my ears - his voice is just great for this kind of book.
Made me enjoy listening and use audiobooks more.
No, not better, just different. I still love the pictures in the printed version - a great gift for graduates.
Oh the Thinks You Can Think
Love his expressions.
Dr. Seuss' outrageous and hilarious pictures and rhymes give surprisingly realistic advice to young people as they set out on their own.
Fabulous book, spectacular performance.
Well worth it. My three year old has listened to it at least fifteen times with me.
