My Man Jeeves is the first book in a series of comical ones by written by P.G. Wodehouse, which recount the tales of Wooster and his ever reliable valet Jeeves. The stories follow our hapless hero and his misadventures in New York where he and his friends always seem to be getting into trouble, only to be bailed out by the ingenious plots of his witty valet, Jeeves.
Each character in the book is brought to life through the stunning vocals of narrator David McCallion. His diverse range adds to the humor in each story and makes for an incredible listening experience.
My Man Jeeves from the Jeeves collection contains the following eight stories:
Whether it's a problem with an unexpected guest who enjoys the New York lifestyle a little too much, a friend who's having trouble with a rich uncle or just deciding what tie to wear with a particular suit, Bertie can always turn to Jeeves and be sure that he'll be able to point him in the right direction, even if things tend to get a little bumpy along the way.
This audiobook also contains several stories featuring Bertie Pepper, this character was an early prototype of Wooster who was just as adept at getting himself, and those around him, into trouble.

Awesome is an inadequate word to describe this utterly remarkable audio book. This fast-paced witty tale is well narrated by David McCallion which has effortlessly abducted me in this roller-coaster tale and unending drama. The characters were well embodied. Certainly this narrator possesses the X-factor necessary to create a whirlwind in one’s mind, of which I am chief. P.G. Wodehouse has skillfully constructed an audio book that is well worth listening to!
All I’ve got to is WOW… David McCallion knocked this book out of the park and did a marvelous job at narrating each character’s voice in a style that matched the personality which P.G. Wodehouse intended them to have.
McCallion’s charming English accent adds so much to the persona that is present in each character. Wodehouse's vocabulary and different words that were typical for the time period are incredible to hear used with such ease and melody! The full effect of these stories is certainly felt in having this narrator read them, and make them that much more pleasant and delightful!
As to the characters themselves, the relationship that emerges between Bertie Wooster and Jeeves is simply charming; Jeeves is one of those friends that everyone wishes they had, apparently. He is the one who is always there to help, no matter how grave the situation might be. I found myself feeling quite jealous of Bertie, since he gets to spend time with Jeeves and introduce him to other friends, as well! The wonderful little subplots and events that unfold make for the perfect feel-good read!
A spectacular performance and also one of the cleanest audio’s I have listened to with no background noise or breath sounds, 2 thumbs up…
