A collection of stories about the greedy. Humorous and satirical, it is the best example of Al-Jahiz' prose style. It is an insightful study of human psychology. Jahiz ridicules schoolmasters, beggars, singers and scribes for their greedy behavior. Many of the stories continue to be reprinted in magazines throughout the Arabic-speaking world. The book is considered one of the best works of Al Jahiz.

“As you know, madness is like gravity...all it takes is a little push.” The Joker
For me, the choice of the parts of the book to be narrated is not so appropriate and the narration contained some words that I (an Egyptian!) didn't understand, but this was not the biggest problem.
The real annoyance is the background music during the whole book! Why?!
"Good narration and content as an Arabic-learner"
As a learner of the Arabic language, i found this audiobook a great way to expand my vocabulary and improve my listening ear in Arabic. I enjoyed hearing a story narrated at a conversational speed (far more natural than most listening exercises in Arabic textbooks). I hope more audiobooks will be published both in MSA and colloquial dialects so native and non-native speakers of Arabic can listen and benefit from them.
