Great Retelling of Chekov's Tales

What made the experience of listening to 'Misfortune' and 'Not Wanted' the most enjoyable?

The acting in this was wonderful, the narrator doesn't just read he acts.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The young man, that is in love with this married woman.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

You really feel for all the characters in the book. The younger women married to the older man, the young man who loves her. It is a story that still rings true today.

Any additional comments?

I like Mr. Cawthorne's British accent I feel it gives a more authentic feel to Chekkov.

Horrific Narration worsens two weak stories

I really love Chekhov but horrific narration and poor sound quality renders this almost un-listenable. The narration itself is slow and stilted. There is background echo and an annoying hiss. Finally these are two Chekhov stories that are not his best. All together you couldn't pay me to listen to these again. Even for 63 cents this is not worth it. So far everything I have heard from Roberson Audio Publications has very poor overall quality.
