Can’t Beat the Classics!!!!

The setting is archaic. The customs are from another era. However, the story has much to inform the alert reader.

Not for 8th grade boys

It met my very low expectations for a book based in the civil war about girls growing up. There is much romance which I don't care for.

This amazing book

This book is wonder actually the best book I have ever listened to. Every girl so different yet their relationship is so close. Heart wrenching yet so warming , it makes you want dance sometimes and cry at others. Louisa May Alcott did a suburb job in my opinion. This book is a must read

A. MAZ. ING.

GREAT book! Beautifully written and great plot. Has many life lessons and is hilarious! I would recommend this book to anyone! I think you could enjoy this book at age 7 just as well as you would at age 80! Took me a while to finish it but left me with one thing in my head: THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!

Great story, little kids might find it a little over their heads though. I'd say that 9 or 10 would be a good age. But it just depends on the kid to be honest! :D

I loved hearing the adventures of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy! Totally want the next book!!! And can I just say that Victoria Mcgee's narration was awesome? Cause it was! All the voices were amazing and I think that it is totally worth it to get this book!

A very long sermon.

The characters are not believable. Too perfect and too good. I enjoyed it more when I was 10.

Don't know how she accomplished this

I have no idea how Victoria McGee accomplished this, but she ruined a book that I adored as a child. I think, perhaps, she tried too hard to dramatize the text rather than letting the words pull the story forward. She did not successfully (in my opinion) distinguish the voices of the characters, but she made them all sound insufferably stuffy. They all lacked vibrancy and character.

Good story, the reader, though

The reader is stilted and robotic with extremely odd inflections and a limited sense of the characters. You can never focus on the story because the reader is so vocally awkward.
