I love this book more than some others as this is the book I used to read A LOT during my early teens, even though I didn't understand some things as clearly as I do now. I remember making warm bread and tea to read this book, and both of these are linked in my mind so much that every time I pick up this book I yearn for a cup of warmth that I felt in the past. The narrator has a motherly voice, and you get a warm feeling listening to the book in her voice.
The best is the links it has got with the history of mankind, how good things used to be in the past, and hope that I can bring up my daughters as well as the ones in this book.
Her narration was superb overall. The manly voice doesn't suit her when she reads out their dialogues though.
None at all.
I can listen to this book again and again! And I will!
Beautiful story! Enjoyed the readers voice. She does a nice job. I have listened to several of her books. Love reading the classics with my two young daughters.
I can see why this book is a classic. It tells a story with enough realism that the book speaks to you (in more ways then one) but the stories also end happily each time leaving the listener with a sense of fantasy.
The reason I have mixed feelings on Little Women is because I believe it is for a younger audience who needs the life lessons spelled out for them. I believe the book would have been better without quite as much narrative. I also really wanted two characters to marry that didn't...
Still, a good book! Gets better in the second half.
Reader was good but listened with 1.25 speed.
GREAT book! Beautifully written and great plot. Has many life lessons and is hilarious! I would recommend this book to anyone! I think you could enjoy this book at age 7 just as well as you would at age 80! Took me a while to finish it but left me with one thing in my head: THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!
Great story, little kids might find it a little over their heads though. I'd say that 9 or 10 would be a good age. But it just depends on the kid to be honest! :D
I loved hearing the adventures of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy! Totally want the next book!!! And can I just say that Victoria Mcgee's narration was awesome? Cause it was! All the voices were amazing and I think that it is totally worth it to get this book!
I love this though get for children 10+ quite long it was fantastic loved it
