"May be good but cant get over the reader"

This could be a good book but its reader is too mono-tone to stick with the book long enough to enjoy the essays. Only a touch more inflection would make a world of difference.

"Macbook Voice Synth Would Have Been Cheaper"
What would have made Great American Essays better?

Narration and editing are horrendous. The flat readings, and the ridiculously unnatural breaks, pauses, and stress points, make this about as tolerable as if I'd had my Macbook voice synthesizer read the essays to me. I regret the purchase.
