"The well paused, highly dramatic narrations by Spain's Juan Manuel Montesinos, and by a diverse cast of qualified Latin American and Spanish readers, bring Sancho and Don Quixote's adventures to life, allowing listeners to follow the intricate and sometimes complex series of events and stories-within-stories of this amazing novel. Orlando Cuevas's rendering of Sancho stands out, as it evokes the humility, humor, and leisurely attitude of the character, just as Don Quixote's voice reflects the eloquence and lucidity amidst the folly that define this famous figure." This is a marvelous book, read with seductive and marvelous expression. Please, please, please make more books like this available in Spanish. It's a world of sounds, delights, and colors, that brings the intelligence, the heart and the emotions into pleasant mixture.
As someone who spends a lot of time in Chile, this classical Spanish accent is pure music! More. More. More, Please!
I enjoyed this version of Don Quijote. It was funny, entertaining and allowed me to refresh my spanish in an enjoyable way. I highly recommend this audiobook.
I don't speak spanish....it's not overly clear that it was in a different language.
No, but I will be more careful.
Yes I do enjoy a full cast performance.
Having the full story
It is a classic of Hispanic literature and for good reason. Cervantes is the Spanish equivalent of Shakespeare.
I have wanted to read this for years and was looking forward to listening. I feel like an idiot for not noticing it isn't in translation and gutted because the narrator has such a beautiful voice. I can't return it so I suppose I'm going to have to learn Spanish.
