Readily Available and Easily Understood
I found Professor Meineck’s lectures to be the best review of Greek, and by extension Western, mythology I’ve ever found. I’m old, but his style and language was invigorating and edifying.
I urge listeners to take the opportunity to see where and how these myths have become integrated into large segments of western culture. Such insights and connections make me grateful and respectful for the wonders of the past 3,000 years of storytelling and the ways we are so connected.
I’m re-reading the Iliad and will follow it with the Odyssey, in time.

Very, very informative with alot of perspective as to the meaning of all these Gods, with excellant reasoning. If you like mythology get this audio, if you dont like mythology get it anyway, because you soon will!!

Not as much as I hoped for
I honestly had hoped for something a little easier to follow. I've enjoyed other Modern Scholar works before, but this seemed less organized than the others. It still has good information and isn't hard to listen to, but I didn't retain as much as I'd like.

Insightful and Informative
I have a wandering mind and a difficult time staying focused I have always had a problem with this I appreciate the accompanying PDF it really helps me I’ve discovered audiobooks are an excellent addition to actual written material for me reading while hearing a story seems to focus my brain fully on the subject at hand but even without it I greatly enjoyed this book it really held my attention and provided great insight and information I actually was surprised with my overall enjoyment I’ve tried audiobooks of similar types and just couldn’t keep my attention it would always quickly become background noise. I’ll definitely listen to it again and look forward to listening to the other titles by him.

Inappropriate Title.
A more apt title for this Modern Scholar Lecture Series is "Random Thoughts on Classical Greek Mythology from a Contemporary Feminist Perspective".
