Publisher's summary

Originally published in 1932, this outstanding work of literature is more crucial and relevant today than ever before.

“One of the most prophetic dystopian works of the 20th century”—Wall Street Journal

Cloning, feel-good drugs, antiaging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media—has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller’s genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 AF (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

A powerful work of speculative fiction that has enthralled and terrified readers for generations, Brave New World is both a warning to be heeded and thought-provoking yet satisfying entertainment.

Had trouble with the pompous voice

Unfortunately Micheal York’s performance was grating on nearly every word spoken, ruined a great book for me!!

Great story with great narrator

Powerful book. Adding M8chaek Cane just added that much more to the production. we need to get people thinking about these questions again.

An important work

The ideas are fascinating and well worth reading. But it is not a great read. The narration however is sensational.

Good listen overall

The performance was really over dramatic sometimes, but in general it was a good listen. The story was interesting, and it was understandable.

A ageless & relevant cautionary tale

As relevant a cautionary tale for 2020 as it ever was in previous decades. Thought provoking.

Michael York - the best narrator!

He narrates so unbelievably well, with many different voices and characters, with so much passion. It is just pure pleasure to listen and enjoy.
